RESUMO
A canulação da artéria radial para a monitorização da pressão arterial média é um procedimento comum nas cirurgias de grande porte. O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar através de método não-invasivo (Doppler) se a canulação da artéria radial está relacionada com alterações circulatórias permanentes. Foram estudados quarenta pacientes submetidos a cirurgia cardíaca que necessitaram de canulação da artéria radial. Os pacientes foram avaliados 24 horas antes da cirurgia e seis a sete dias após a cirurgia, pelo teste de Allen, nos membros superiores direito e esquerdo; mensuração da pressão arterial sistólica das artérias braquial direita e esquerda, radial direita e esquerda, ulnar direita e esquerda e digital direita e esquerda (4° quirodáctilo); e feitos os índices digital/braquial, digital/radial e digital/uinar. No pré-operatório obteve-se uma positividade de 2,5% no teste de Allen, e, no pós-operatório, houve um aumento para 22,5%, porém não houve alteração pressórica significativa quando usado o fluxômetro de Doppler. A canulação da artéria radial é um procedimento eficiente e seguro para a monitorização da pressão arterial média e gases sanguíneos, e a isquemia da artéria radial é raramente encontrada, como é demonstrado nesse estudo.

SUMMARY
The cannulation of the radial artery for the monitorization of the medium arterial pressure is a common procedure in the surgeries of great load. The objective ofthis study was verify through method non-invasive (Doppler) if the cannulation of the radial artery is related with permanent circulalory alterations. Forty submilted patients were studied the heart surgery that needed cannulation of the radial artery. The patients appraised 24 hours before the surgery and six to seven days after surgery for Allen's test in the right and lefl superior members; monitoring of the systolic arterial pressure of the arteries brachial right and left, radial right and left, right ulnar and left and digital right and left; and done the indexes digital/brachial, digital/radial and digital/ ulnar. Before the surgery positive Allen's test went 2,5% and after the surgery an increase for 22,5%, even so there was not alteration significant when used pressure of the Doppler. The cannulation of the radial artery is an efficient and safe procedure for the monitorization of the medium arterial pressure and sanguine gases and the isquemia of the radial artery is rarely found, as it is demonstrated in that study.
