RESUMO

O tratamento da impotência pela auto-injeção intracavernosa de Prostaglandina El apresenta grandes vantagens sobre outras drogas vasoativas, tais como o Cloridrato de Papaverina ou o Mesilato de Fentolamina. Com a associação da abordagem psicológica específica - a terapia sexual, os resultados podem ser considerados mais positivos.
Além da revisão bibliográfica e descrição da metodologia do tratamento por auto-injeção intracavernosa associada com a terapia sexual, o presente artigo apresenta estudo com sessenta pacientes impotentes, sendo que 86% destes obtiveram resultados positivos, com retorno às relações sexuais e ereções satisfatórias, Com o adequado diagnóstico e a aliança da abordagem psicoterapêutica com a auto-injeção, os resultados satisfatórios tendem a se apresentar melhores do que o referido pela literatura específica já existente.

ABSTRACT

The treatment of male sexual impotence by intracavernous self-injection of Prostaglandin El have larger advantages over the other vaso-active drugs aiso used for self-injection, such as Papaverine or Phentolamine. The association ofspecific psychological approach - sex therapy, the results can be considered an improvement. Along with a bibliographic review, the treatment approach by intracavernous self-injection and its association with sex therapy, the article presents the study with sixty impotent patients with this method, to whom positive results with return to regular intercourse with satisfactory erections was achieved in 86% of the followed up patients.
With adequated diagnosis and the association ofpsychtherapeutic approach with auto-injection, the satisfactory results are even better than the ones presented by the specifíc literature.
